The puja was started more than 170years ago. Some say it was Ishwar Pran Krishna Laha who Performed the first puja, others claim it was Rajiblochan Laha who started it. Durga is seen here in Shiva's arms and with her eyes shut.
Puja in this household starts on Saptami with the arrival of Jay Jay Ma arrives at the natmandir. Vegetables and fruits are offered to the goddess as sacrifice. on Dashami, the idol is not sarried on the shoulders but in the arms of the male members of the family. |
