| Description:
The puja of the Mullick familly was started inthe 15th century during the reign of Nawab Hussain Shah. Since 1925, the puja has been held at Bhowanipore. Here, the goddess is worshipped in the ekchala pattern either at the Durga dalan or Annapurna dalan. Essentially Vaishnavites, the familly members stick to vegetarian food during Puja. It is only after immersion on Dashami that non-vegetarian food is eaten. Another tradition is that no rice products are offered to the goddess. Instead, there are preparations made of wheat. After immersion, the eldest member of the family serves siddhi to the rest and blesses them with ashtadurba. |
